Ken Onion's Blur is one of the most recognised assisted-opening knives ever made, and this is the premium version of it.
The 3.4-inch recurved drop point is ground from CPM S30V, a powder-metallurgy stainless with a fine, dense grain structure that takes a very keen edge and holds it far longer than conventional stainless. The recurve is the point of the design: it pulls material into the belly of the blade as you cut, which makes it noticeably better at rope, webbing and cardboard than a straight edge.
Kershaw's SpeedSafe assisted mechanism deploys the blade from a nudge on the ambidextrous thumb studs — quick, one-handed, and workable with gloves on. The black anodised 6061-T6 aluminium handle is machined to take Trac-Tec grip inserts, which is what keeps it secure in wet hands.
Made in the USA.
