A three-stage pull-through sharpener from DMT, in blue, and the most complete of the simple sharpeners in this range.
The three slots are coarse, fine and extra-fine, worked in sequence: coarse to reset a badly dulled edge, fine to refine it, extra-fine to finish. Most pull-throughs give you one or two stages and stop at merely usable. Three gets you genuinely sharp.
A long moulded handle means you can brace it properly on a counter with one hand, and the non-slip base keeps it from walking under pressure. A retractable hang hole folds away when not in use.
Good on kitchen knives, and equally at home on a fillet knife — the extra-fine stage is what a fillet edge wants.
