A tapered sharpening rod on a ball chain — the tool for the edges that flat sharpeners cannot reach.
Because the rod tapers along its length, you can match its diameter to the size of the scallop you are working on. That makes it the answer for serrated blades, where every other sharpener either skips the serrations entirely or grinds them flat.
The fine tip also takes fish hooks back to sharp, which is why this ends up clipped to tackle boxes as often as knife rolls. Gut hooks too.
Green end caps protect the rod in a pocket, and the ball chain clips it to a lanyard, tackle bag or belt loop so it is there when you need it.
