The Para Military 2 is one of the most carried folding knives in the world, and this is the Lightweight version — the same design with more than 25% of the weight trimmed out.
The trick is swapping G-10 scales for injection-moulded FRN, which also allowed Spyderco to streamline the Compression Lock. The result is a full-size 3.47-inch blade in a knife that weighs 2.8 oz.
The blade is CTS BD1N, a nitrogen-enriched stainless from Carpenter Technology that hits a genuinely useful middle ground: good edge retention, good toughness, good corrosion resistance, and — unusually for a modern steel — easy to sharpen. Here it wears a black DLC coating for a non-reflective finish and extra wear resistance.
Bi-Directional Texturing on the scales grips wet or gloved. The Compression Lock closes one-handed with your fingers well clear of the edge. Reversible deep-carry wire clip.
