Spyderco's Sage Series pays tribute to the inventors of the locking mechanisms that shaped modern folders — each Sage runs the same body with a different lock. The Sage 5 showcases Spyderco's own Compression Lock.
This is the Salt Series version, blacked out. The 3-inch blade is CPM MagnaCut — the steel that finally broke the old compromise between edge retention and corrosion resistance — and it is then coated in titanium carbonitride (TiCN), a vapour-deposited ceramic coating harder than most tool steels and chemically inert to salt and moisture. Two layers of corrosion protection on a steel that already did not need help.
Black G-10 with Caribbean Bi-Directional Texturing grips when wet. The Compression Lock closes one-handed without your fingers crossing the blade path.
