Weber Traveler Compact Portable Gas Braai

The Traveler Compact is about 20% smaller than the original Weber Traveler, sized to fit in the boot of most hatchbacks and compact SUVs, but it still cooks for around four people. Like its big brother it folds into one piece, rises and lowers with one hand on a lever, and locks its lid automatically for transport.

Porcelain-enamelled cast-iron grates take about 12 burgers at once, the stainless steel burner covers a wide temperature range for searing or roasting, and a simple twist of the knob lights it. A side table, front-access grease tray and built-in lid thermometer complete a braai that is as at home at the campsite as on a townhouse patio.
